KUCHING: NIIT (Institut Teknologi Maklumat Nusantara) College is offering full scholarship to five straight A’s SPM students who planned to enrol in their diploma programmes.
Those who did not score straight A’s can apply for partial scholarship.
The scholarships are sponsored by property developer Regal Group to support students who need financial
backing.
In collaboration with NIIT College, Regal Group will also be giving out study vouchers worth RM10,000 to
anyone who purchase a house or property with them during their promotional period.
Regal Group business development director Nicholas Wong said the vouchers were transferable and valid
for one year.

“This is a win-win situation for working adults who need a house and may want to study, or for parents who
want to move to a new house and put a child through college at the same time.”
Regal Group is responsible for developments such as The Tropics condominiums, The Orchard Residences,
Unijaya, Ashraf Avenue and Taman Cahaya Indah.
Meanwhile, NIIT Kuching chief executive/principal Prof Dr Andrew Tiong said the college might be small
but it gave them the advantage of being able to provide comprehensive facilities and services to every
student.

“In the current market, students have to look for industrial training opportunities themselves, which can be an
obstacle to someone with no experience.”
While NIIT Kuching is able to give them a head start in this area, it was still up to the student to perform.
“If they are good, they can be accepted as a full time staff by the employers they trained under,” said Voon.
With a current roll call of 100 students, the college is looking forward to boosting their student population
with many more courses to be introduced this year. The college also has plans to move to a new campus in
Kota Samarahan in two years.
NIIT College was founded in 1999 and offers more than 50 courses ranging from certificate to degree
programmes that are fully accredited by MQA and recognised by public and private sectors. All diploma
and degree courses are supported by PTPTN loan.
